この度、ロイ・ラナ氏が、2022-23シーズンの京都ハンナリーズヘッドコーチに就任することが決定いたしましたのでご報告いたします。

世界チャンピオンやオリンピアンなど、豊富なコーチングキャリアを持つロイ・ラナ氏が、新ヘッドコーチに就任することとなりました。
ラナ新HCは高校・大学・プロ、そして国際大会とさまざまなカテゴリーで25年以上のコーチングキャリアがあり、現在もエジプト代表チームのHCを務めております。東京2020オリンピックでは、ドイツ代表チームのトップアシスタントを務め、ベスト8進出に貢献。また、NBAでは、サクラメント・キングスでACを務めながら、あらゆる分野を統括していた経験も持っております。

さらにA代表のみならず、年代別のカナダ代表チームのコーチも長く務め、U-19チームでは母国カナダに歴史上初めて金メダルをもたらすなど、育成世代の手腕も高く評価されています。
また、2011年からはナイキ・フープサミット( Nike Hoop Summit )世界選抜チームのHCを務め、30人以上のNBA選手を輩出。さらに、世界選抜チームのHCを10年以上務めた唯一のコーチでもあります。

ラナ新HCを迎え、新たなチーム作りをスタートさせる京都ハンナリーズにご期待ください。

World Champion, Olympian and Multiple Championship winning Coach Roy Rana is the new Head Coach of the Kyoto Hannaryz. Coach Rana brings over 25 years of coaching experience at the High school, Collegiate, Professional and International levels and currently serving as the Head Coach of Egypt’s National Team as they look to qualify for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He served as the Lead Assistant for the German National Team which advanced to the elite 8 of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He also served as Head Coach of Canada’s Senior National Teams finished 10-2 in FIBA Americas competition and qualified for the 2019 World Cup in China. He was the Assistant Coach and the Chief of Staff with the Sacrament Kings of the NBA.   Not only does he have dozen experience working for the senior teams, Mr. Roy also has numerous experience leading different youth levels. He led Canada to a historic first ever World Championship in FIBA competition, at the 2017 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. He is very well respected at the youth level. In addition, he became the Head Coach of the World Team at the Nike Hoop Summit in 2011 and the longest serving Head Coach in the history for more than 10 years in the position. Over thirty of his World Team alumni are now in the NBA. Give a warm welcome to Coach Rana as our new Head Coach and look forward to the start of new phase of the Kyoto Hannaryz.

クラブはラナ氏とコミュニケーションを重ね、組織の発展の仕方や現状の課題や今後目指すべき方向性、あるべきチームの姿を話し合いを行いました。チームビルディングの新しいフェーズだと捉え、ラナ氏のこれまでの経験や知識が、京都ハンナリーズに必要だとの考えから、来季ヘッドコーチをオファーいたしました。輝かしいキャリアももちろんですが、数多くのチームで優勝が出来るだけのレベルのプログラムを築き上げた経験があります。また、人間性も素晴らしく、選手やスタッフに対しても大いに刺激になることを期待しています。
